Tameka Anderson, born in Chicago, IL, spent her childhood years in the foster care system. Tameka started writing at a young age to ease her pain of feeling abandoned and unloved. In 2003, Tameka moved to Atlanta GA with her family, she is now a mother of three beautiful children and is recently divorced. Over the years, writing has helped to fill the void in her life and peace within herself.
Tameka continued her writing by creating plays for her church functions and in the year 2008 she started her own Creative Writing and Interpersonal Relations Firm called L.A. Say Inc. As an adult she has always had a free spirit and her “Hollywood” personality has dubbed her the nickname “L.A.”
Tameka presently holds a degree in Criminal Justice and is continuing her studies to gain her PhD in this field. She is hoping to one day be in a position to change some laws in the foster care system. Tameka is also in the process of starting a non-profit organization for single parents called GASP Ministries and volunteers for other non-profit organizations as well.
Some of the people who has influenced Tameka’s life over the years are: Maya Angelo for her writing, John Maxwell for his leadership and Joyce Meyer for her spirituality. In 2009 after her divorce, Tameka started writing her first book which was inspired by her life’s journey.
“The reason I wrote, Moment of Clarity; Diary of a Recovering Love Addict is because I had an epiphany one day that I was a love addict. It was as if I had a ‘moment of clarity’ when all of the foolish decisions that I made in my past relationships made sense to me. I wrote the book because I didn’t want anyone else to waste another minute of their lives being foolish like I had been.
People have come back to thank me personally for sharing my story with them. I will never forget the woman who told me she could not get past the first page of Chapter One without tears welling up in her eyes! Another man said he was just going to read a little and put it down, then found out he could not put it down!”—L.A.
